This Is The Year To Learn Lifesaving Skills.  Get Certified.  Save A Life.

MEDIC First Aid BasicPlus is a combined adult CPR, AED and first aid training program designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider.  This program:

  • Meets OSHA and other federal and state requirements
  • Trains employees on how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work
  • Provides 4 hours of CEU’s for Oregon and Washington
  • Certifications are good for two years
  • Endorsed by the Inside Electrical and Limited Energy Apprenticeship Programs

High Voltage Cable Splicing and Termination

This is a three day course running from October 11-13  Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  7:30 AM to 3:30 PM  You will receive 8 Oregon CR Credits for this course.

This 24 hour course certifies a cable splicer for 2,001 through 35,000-volt electrical splices and terminations, MV Class.  You will learn:  inline and T splices – pre-molded, NEC applications, tape terminations & splices, load-break elbows, spiking techniques, hi-pot testing, cable-splicing log development, generation & distribution systems, and HV safety per 29 CFR 1910.269.

Solvents will be handled.  Course Textbook provided in class.
Includes 3M certificate.

Students will be required to bring:

  • Extremely sharp razor knife
  • Several new razor knife blades
  • Sharp lock-blade pocket knife
  • Flat File — metal filing type
  • Close-work glasses
  • Magnifying glass
  • Clean rags or paper towels
  • Slide-type Calipers (micrometer)
  • Plastic or Rubber gloves for solvents
  • Hacksaw, Porta Band, or Sawzall
  • Needle Nose pliers
  • Telephone scissors
  • 1” socket and 1/2” drive ratchet wrench
  • Paper/pencil and or Tablet
  • Highlighter

2019 School of Safety - Confined Space

AN IMPORTANT SAFETY CLASS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR BUSINESS

 

The Confined Space course focuses on the basics for recognizing and evaluating the health and safety hazards associated with confined space work.  Attendees will learn what classifies spaces as permit-required and the precautions that must be taken before such a space is entered, including entry and exit, ventilation, rescue procedures and more.

2019 Leadership Development Series

Intended for anyone in the industry looking to improve their leadership skills. Meets one Friday each month for a three-hour hands-on session, the series is designed to provide supervisors, managers and team leaders with crucial insights into building and supporting high functioning teams.

The topics include: Role of Leaders, Personality Inventory and Leadership, Public Speaking, Team Building and Managing People, Leading and Planning, Dispute Resolution and Negotiation, Safety Program Awareness and Retention, Dealing with Difficult People, Ten Costly Legal Errors to Avoid, Work/Life Balance and The Legislative and Political Process. A recap and graduation will be the final course in December.
