High Voltage Cable Splicing October 11 – 13, 2019

This course will run three days from October 11 though 13. It will be 8 hours per day 7:30 AM to 3:30 AM and provides 8 Oregon CR Credits.
This 24 hour course certifies a cable splicer for 2,001 through 35,000-volt electrical splices and terminations, MV Class. You will learn: inline and T splices – pre-molded, NEC applications, tape terminations & splices, load-break elbows, spiking techniques, hi-pot testing, cable-splicing log development, generation & distribution systems, and HV safety per 29 CFR 1910.269.
Solvents will be handled. Course Textbook provided in class. Includes 3M certificate.
Students will be required to bring:
Extremely sharp razor knife
Several new razor knife blades
Sharp lock-blade pocket knife
Flat File — metal filing type
Clean rags or paper towels
Slide-type Calipers (micrometer)
Plastic or Rubber gloves for solvents
Hacksaw, Porta Band, or Sawzall
Needle Nose pliers
1” socket and 1/2” drive ratchet wrench
Paper/pencil and or Tablet
